Welcome to the homepage of the artist Marie Egner!

Marie Egner is one of the most important female Austrian artists of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century.

Like Tina Blau and Olga Wisinger-Florian she was also a student of the landscape painter Emil Jakob Schindler and worked in his milieu. Her works can be described as Stimmungsimpressionismus (Austrian mood impressionism), a specific kind of impressionism in Austria. Her preferred subjects were landscapes and flower still lifes. Marie Egner did a lot of her works directly in the nature as Plen-Air-Paintings.
